Bohemia - A Real Fairy Tale
On this trip we will bicycle through the heartland of Bohemia - Czech Republic. This unspoiled area consists of small villages, historical towns, meandering little rivers, woodlands and gently rolling terrain. We spend the nights in charming places
with lovely and historically mysterious castles, often surrounded by carp ponds with scenic bike trails. Historical, pretty, charming, even the word entrancing, can describe these wonderful towns on the Bohemian bicycle trip.
Bicycling
We’ll bicycle on quiet country roads with little
traffic. The terrain is rolling but not too
strenuous. Some days are flat; however, one
day toward the end of the trip is a bit of a
workout.
The overall level of difficulty is easy to
moderate. Most days are between 30 to 35
miles of riding with a few exceptions.
Accommodations and Food
The accommodations are excellent, selected not only for their local charm but also for their comfort level. They
are some historical houses that have been converted into hotels—often located in medieval town squares.
Czech dishes are outstanding, despite having little international recognition. We’ll sample several of the local
specialities.
